Pepsi Ad Response

Watching this Kendall Jenner ad which has sparked backlash from the public; I wasn't particularly surprised by what I saw. The fact that Kendall Jenner, a wealthy white model, leaves a photoshoot to join a racial protest, offer a cop a pepsi, and "save the day" is nothing new in the advertisement industry and film industry in general. Even despite deeply engrained racial bias that is often taken advantage of in ads; advertisements are made to market to the public as a product that somehow gives the customer a sense of fulfillment. Apparently Pepsi has been pretty successful.

final idea

. Daily connection to my sketchbook.
. Sharing sketchbook with friends.
. Going to party with friends.
. Engaging in festivities.
. Shares sketchbook at party.
. Leaves sketchbook at party.
. Tired and antsy from lost the next day.
. Girl from party returns sketchbook with sketch(s).

stop motion-very loose storyboard

stop motion idea

Any sketchbook I've ever had usually goes through what ever I do, depending on how often I bring it on my own experiences. I think for this short film I want to portray one of the many times I have lost my sketchbook and have had a fortunate reunion.

Homework #5

I feel this article took on an interesting point of view on the controversial topic of Trump's presidency. Although this article is nothing particularly new among the countless other "opinion pages" on having a politically unruly president; I agree with Robert Zarotsky's sentiments regarding Trump's relavance to "Society of the Spectacle" by Guy Debord. Debord states in his book "...spectacular power can similarly deny whatever it likes, once or three times over, and change the subject, knowing full well there is no danger of any riposte.". Which I believe to be more true than ever considering Trump's multiple attempts and lack of attempts to take responsibility for his actions and know the appropriate actions to take as our new president.

5 year plan

Within the next 5 years I’m not completely sure where I’ll be in life. Ideally I’d be interning with an art therapy program; maybe even live somewhere covered in palm trees with the future “love of my life”. However currently, I’ve been focusing on attempting to achieve happiness through connections with friends, family, art, and psychology. Although life is full of all kinds of curve balls, I believe happiness is the human catalyst for motivation and dying old.
